IVOR WALKER

Our dear friend Ivor Walker has passed away peacefully at home. Ivor did a tremendous amount for the club and wore many hats such as Club Captain, Fixture Secretary, Press Officer, Committee Member, not to mention running the Club Website and composing all the match reports.

He devoted several good years of service to our Club and he will be sorely missed. He was a kind happy gentleman and a "one off."

His Funeral is at Harwood Park Crematorium on Friday 20th April at 2 o'clock. His Daughter would like us to provide a Guard of Honour for Him.

TONY CLARK

Tony was a long serving and well respected member of the Bowls Club and became a Life member.

He became green keeper when we took over the green from the Council. He was Club Captain for a number of years, and a very active bowler. He was involved at the club when we first built our pavilion. Later he presented a Trophy Winners board, for those who had received County titles.

His funeral is at Holwell crematorium on April 5th at 11am, and afterwards at Stotfold Conservative Club.

No flowers please, but donations to the British Heart Foundation.

Wordsmith retires

Your wordsmith has not played bowls this season and now he has crashed his car. It is believed that the car will be written off so he has no transport, his driving licence has been taken by a police officer. In the circumstances the journey between Stevenage and Stotfold is impracticable so it's goodnight from him.

We are up and running

A big thanks to Ed for installing our fixtures, now it is the time for your wordsmith to come out of hibernation. He has the usual moan, scorecards not being submitted despite repeated requests but reports for matches where details are available are on the system
